Preface |
This is the first version of my WordPerfect macro tutorial. It
is still in "beta," so there may well be typos, broken links,
etc.; I would appreciate notification of any such
technical problems.
I am especially interested in your comments regarding the content of the tutorial, whether the explanations are clear, and the coverage adequate. I encourage you to e-mail me your suggestions for improving the tutorial. In addition to the e-mail link on this page, there is one at the bottom of each page page of the tutorial. Remember that this tutorial is for beginners. You will not become a macro expert by reading this tutorial. In fact, you will not become proficient in writing macros just by reading anything about macros. The only way to do that is by experience: you should practice writing macros, using the various commands and techniques explained in this tutorial. Do not be afraid to experiment. And be prepared to endure some frustration as you struggle to figure some things out on your own. Unfortunately at this point frustration and computers seem to go hand-in-hand. But the rewards are well worth it. I am considering writing a book, incorporating and expanding on the items covered in this tutorial, but with examples and exercises for the student as well. Please let me know if you might be interested in a book like this. One final request: There is no charge for this tutorial, but as we all know nothing in life is free. If you find this tutorial useful, please repay my generosity in making this tutorial available by being generous yourself, and make a donation to your favorite charity. May I suggest an amount of at least US$36? If you want to read the tutorial from start to finish, begin with the Introduction. Or you can browse the Table of Contents and go from there. |
